To share our love of choral music with audiences, drawing on a range of inspirations, musical styles, and talents.
Our Artistic Director
The Spectrum Singers are led by Jason Dornink, who studied music education at Northern Illinois University. At NIU, he continued his participation in the bands and choirs and spent his summers marching with the Colts Drum and Bugle Corps from Dubuque, IA. Since graduating college, Jason has directed school, community and church ensembles. Tim Stacy is our accompanist.
Membership is open to anyone with a love of choral music and a commitment to continuous improvement, regardless of previous experience. In the upcoming season, Spectrum Singers will produce two flagship performances, and we are available for hire for events. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Meadowview Elemetary School. At this time, Spectrum Singers collects dues in order to pay our directors and accompanists, rent rehearsal and performance spaces, and purchase music. There are a number of options for individuals who wish to join but are unable to meet dues. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on joining the group and current fees.
Note From the Director:
"I picture a choir with members ranging in age from teenagers to senior citizens, of all different racial/ethnic backgrounds, socio-economic status, religious affiliations, and sexual orientations. Each member's unique backgrounds brings the choir a different perspective that enhances the performance of the music, so it is important that our membership be committed to attendance at rehearsals and performances. While it is understandable that circumstances will require members to miss occasional events, spectacular performances cannot occur if each member of the group is not comfortable with the music and performing with the other members of the group. The only requirement for membership will be a love of choral music and a commitment to share that love with other choral musicians." - Jason
